                Programming Instructions

1) Connect jumper wire to JU401 (connects micro pin 12 to ground)
2) Turn the unit on.
3) Press  Pro. Prior.  Display will start blinking
4) Press  0.  (All reference to 0 corresponds to 10 on the keyboard)
          Display will go blank, if not check your jumper wire 
          connection.
5) Press  The six digits of the receive frequency  (This is also the 
          transmit frequency if this is a simplex frequency; 
          eg.  151.625 or 154.000.
6) Press  0 for simplex (transmit & receive on the same frequency)
          8 for half duplex (transmit & receive on different 
          frequency)
7) Press  0 - for normal transmit & receive operation (normal encode
          & decode tone)
          4 - for transmit disable (receive only)
          2 - for tone encode only (used very rarely)
8) The next 2 digits determine tone frequency.  Use the 2 digit code
   or 00 for no tone.
9) if 8 was selected for step 6 duplex, then it will be required that 
   you enter the tone code twice.

10) If simplex was chosen, go to step 11.  If half duplex was chosen,
    enter the six digit number of the transmit frequency.
11) Press   Enter,  Then the channel number the frequency is to be 
    stored in.
12) For entering another channel, go back to step 5.  If no other 
    channels are to be programmed, turn the unit off, then on.  The
    unit will now be ready for normal operation.
13) If you would like to review the program, repeat steps 3 & 4,
    Press manual, then the digit of the channel to be reviewed.
    Information will be displayed 1 digit at a time.


NOTE:  REMOVE JUMPER JU401 AFTER PROGRAMMING.

- V.C.O. Adjustment
   .075 Nylon hex tuning tool (Radio Shack)

- V.C.O. Adjustment to the right to favor higher frequencies.

- Use Jumper with clips to connect cut J401 to Chassis rail.
